Giving the gift of wine

Nothing seems more special than giving the gift of wine. There is something in the DNA of wine that makes us feel good when we hold a bottle. Possibly it is the anticipation of the friendliness and good emotions to come. And then strengthen that sensation, knowing the wine is of unique endorsement makes the experience that much more intimate.

Gift Basket With Wine

Food and wine have been together since the start. Is it any wonder that the foods of a nation always appear to enhance their vintages. Food and wine are just naturals.

A food and wine gift is a thoughtful present that typically evokes a grin. Wine baskets come in a range of styles and themes. There huge gift basket making companies that pump them out by the thousands all packed with private label foods that nobody is sure of the origin.

These baskets usually tend to have common wine brands; brands you see on a daily basis on the shelves of your neighborhood super market. Often these baskets are themed around a color! Like a basket jam-packed of gold food stuffs or red foods; what sense does that make?

My notion is different. I think the basket should reflect very good taste and foods that taste great. I think each food really should be taste tried and sourced from the original vendor with their brand and name. As with wine, this shows accountability to what is inside. And the same goes for the wine. You do not need someone else to repackage the equal brands readily available at the petrol station. The wines in a connoisseur food basket really should be unequaled and make a proclamation about who you are and how significant your beneficiary is to you.

As well, baskets should be made to order. Especially ones which are shrink wrapped (I prefer this for the reason that the foods stay dust free even on the shippers van). The point is, baskets that are shrink wrapped and left to sit in a storehouse ultimately sag. Time plays against heat shrink film. The provider that you buy your basket from should be making them to order. You place the order, the basket department makes it that day and ships it the same. When it arrives at your recipients home or establishment, it is fresh and tight.

Years ago I received a wine gift that was gorgeous. Great wines and foods. As I was indulging in the food products, I was investigating the olive jar. Looked very good. Seemmed to be perfectly first-class. Then I see in the smallest of text the expiration date; that was two years prior. Can you imagine? Lesson, your basket seller should be testing and refreshing products regularly.

Wine gift baskets can be a splendid and thoughtful gift. Pick carefully.
